Application: NetWave Wi-Fi Analyzer | Package: com.jambuijo.netwave | Last Updated: October 19, 2026
Summary: NetWave is a local Wi-Fi diagnostic utility. We do not operate tracking servers or store your personal identity. Wi-Fi RF scans and network diagnostics are processed 100% on-device in volatile memory. Advertising and consent are handled through Google AdMob and Google's official User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK in strict adherence to GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Policies.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how NetWave Wi-Fi Analyzer ("NetWave", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Android mobile application. We are committed to transparency, data minimization, and user privacy.
2. On-Device Diagnostic Permissions & Usage
To provide network analysis, Wi-Fi channel rating, router health diagnostics, and signal tracking, the app requests the following system permissions:
Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Android OS enforces location permissions for any app accessing Wi-Fi scan results (SSID, BSSID, RSSI, channel frequency). NetWave uses this data solely in real-time on your device to visualize Wi-Fi signal strength and channel interference. We do NOT collect, record, track, or transmit your physical geographic location to any external server.
Wi-Fi & Network Access (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES): Required to scan available 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz spectrum channels and discover connected gateway IP addresses.
Internet Access (INTERNET): Utilized exclusively to ping your local gateway/DNS for latency jitter testing and to request advertisements via Google AdMob.
3. Third-Party Services & Advertisements
NetWave utilizes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to provide ad-supported functionality. Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers and device telemetry to deliver advertisements:
Google AdMob: May collect Advertising ID (AAID), device IP address, operating system version, and ad interaction metrics. Learn more at Google Privacy & Terms.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK: Manages consent gathering for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland under the IAB TCF framework.
4. User Consent & Privacy Controls (GDPR / CCPA)
Users have complete sovereignty over their data:
EEA / UK GDPR: Users are prompted upon initial launch to choose personalized or non-personalized advertising. You can review or revoke your consent preferences at any time by navigating to Tools > Legal & Privacy > Privacy & Consent Settings within the app.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. AdMob configurations respect user opt-out preferences.
5. Data Retention & Sharing
NetWave does not maintain any backend database or user registration system. Telemetry files exported by the user (such as CSV or JSON survey snapshots) are saved strictly to the user's local storage and are shared only when the user explicitly triggers an Android share sheet action.
6. Children's Privacy
NetWave is a technical network utility intended for general audiences and network professionals. We do not knowingly target, collect, or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update our Privacy Policy. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
